The cape of Tianya Haijiao is located near Sanya and is one of the Hainan's most visited sites.  Local legend has it that two lovers from rival Li clans pledged their love for one another at the rock, before being forced to jump into the sea by clansmen from both tribes.

The Chinese believe that two of the huge rocks that stand facing one another represent the two lovers.  Today, Chinese couples, exchanging or renewing their marriage vows, often invoke this tale in their declarations of love.

Sailing is a romantic way for lovers to experience the beauty of Hainan.
