Beaches - An Endless array...each as unique as your footprint in the sand

With soft breezes, sunny beaches and a warm welcome for families, Hainan is the perfect destination for fun in the sun!

With magnificient seaside beaches, year-round tropical weather, and 365 days a year of sunshine, Hainan has recently been named "Best New Hot Destination for 2005" by Newsweek Magazine.

Seriously challenging other better known Asian destinations, Hainan offers visitors an almost endless array of beaches to choose from.  Water temperatures that range from 18º C and 30º C ensures the visitor a perfect setting for swimming and beach activities throughout the year.

Yalong Bay, Dadonghai Bay, and Wuzhizhou Island on the south side of Hainan are some of the best beaches on the island and definitely worth the visit.  Lesser known beaches, many of which can be discovered by venturing off the main roads, are highly recommended and await the venturesome spirit.

One word of caution,  however, and that is that the main beaches become very crowded during the evening.  This is because the local people, as well as many visitors from mainland China, like to walk on the beaches after the sun goes down.  To truly enjoy these beautiful beaches, we'd suggest you go during the day, long before the crowds arrive!

Shimei Bay is thought by many to be one of the most beautiful places in the world. Located on the southeast seashore of Hainan, Shimei Bay offers the visitor unparralled views of emerald forests, deep blue pristine waters and soft, silver beaches. Small fishing villages also dot the landscape. The area is a protected natural preservation area.

Yalong Bay is one of Asia's premier destination.  The white sand beach, rippled by the gentle ebbing of the sea, stretches for 20 km. Great snorkeling and scuba diving opportunities abound.  Yalong Bay is part of a protected marine reserve and this helps ensure the area remains serene and beautiful for future generations.
